Posted by Darrell on 5/27/2005, 10:58 pm Thanks to the 40 teams that made the BPA Jerry Karstens World Series Qualifier in Michigan City, IN at Patriot Park a huge success. Your sportsmanship and attitudes were awesome, and it was a pleasure to host you all in each of the 76 games played. Overwhelmingly – the parents were fantastic too, but there were a couple that need to understand the game is for the kids, leave the rule interpretations to the coaches and umpires, and should take our Parents Code of Ethics to heart! I am pleased to report that out of so many games – no parents watched from the parking lot! Thanks also to the very hard working BPA Umpires and IN BPA Umpire-In-Chief Tony Drzewiecki, and also to the dedicated M.C. Parks staff. I’m sure not every call was correct, but from what I saw, an A+ was earned, especially since you were all worked like dogs the whole weekend!!! You are true professionals and represented the BPA in grand fashion, and I am very proud to have you as part of our BPA family! (Sorry for the poor concessions, and this has been rectified and we have new personnel in place.) Congratulations to the first and second place finishers that earned berths to respective BPA World Series. Be sure to enter your respective State Tourneys to ratify your berth and Good Luck at the Worlds! Darrell L.
