Dear Cheryl
It is never easy when we have to make the most difficult decision to release our beloved pets from this world. It is also one of the most unselfish things that we will ever have to do and I hope in time that you will see this too. Everyone is different and therefore everyone has to make their own decision to be present during the euthanasia. It is ultimately your decision, and you need to do what is best for you.
Since you were not able to be present, please do not feel you were abandoning your Princess. She experienced your love throughout her life, and if she could talk, you can imagine she would say she understands. Your pet was not alone, the veterinarian and staff were there with her, talking to her and petting her during the procedure. Although you were not physically in the room, your Princess carried your love with her and she will stay as a warm place of love in your heart.
If you are in the local area Cheryl and feel that you would like to talk, please don't hesitate to contact us by telephone (click on the link to our webpage at the top of the page) or to email us. Talking about your feelings can be very helpful in coping with the loss of your beloved Princess, especially with people who understand how much it hurts to lose a beloved pet.
Thoughts and prayers are with you, Cheryl.
With deepest sympathy,
Terry
