Dear Lisa
My heart truly goes out to you on the sudden loss of your beloved Jesse. It sounds like he was a very special part of your life so its no wonder that you are feeling heart broken. This may sound strange but making the decision to stop him from suffering or living a life that wasn't really living, was the bravest, most loving and unselfish thing you could do for him.
So often people who contact us feel guilty and wish that they could have done more. I know I felt that way too and I suppose its because we feel we should protect our beloved furbabies from everything. Unfortunately, we are only human and when our pets get sick, we have to place our faith in the vets who care for them and try to remember how much we love our pets and that we would never EVER do anything intentionally to harm them. Guilt is often such a huge part of pet loss and I have posted a link that may help you if you read the article.
If you are in the GTA and would like to contact us by telephone, please click on the link at the top of the page for our phone numbers. We are 100% volunteer-run but will contact you as soon as we receive your message. As it can be a big help to be able to talk to someone who understands about your feelings and how much your beloved Jesse meant to you, we also have meetings once a month in Clarkson (click on link for more information) if you think you might like to attend.
If you are outside of the area, please feel free to email me and if you provide me with your location I will try to find some support in your area.
My sympathy goes out to you and your family, Lisa, and I hope that you will contact me if you feel like you want to talk.
We are here if you need us.
With sympathy,
Terry
