Hi Catherine
I just wanted to extend my sincere sympathy to you on the loss of your beloved Babe. She sounds likes such a special girl and that she brought so much love and joy into the lives of everyone she met.
Its so hard not to feel guilty when we lose our beloved furbabies but I hope you will try to remember that you did everything you possibly could for your Babe. You never, ever would have intentionally done anything to harm her and I hope that you will be able to recognize this one day. Right now there is too much hurt, anger and sorrow because you are grieving.
I have sent you an email, Catherine, with several links for websites on pet loss and children as you want to, if you can, dispel your little daughter's fears that she will now lose her cat too. I hope that these will help. There are also a number of books that you can get that deal with children and pet loss that are geared towards reading out loud to children, that can help them.
I just also wanted to mention that if you are in the GTA and want to talk, please don't hesitate to call us (see link above) or you can email us anytime. We also have a meeting coming up next weekend (the 25th) if you are local and would like to attend.
If you are not in the area and would like some information about support groups/hotlines in your area, please let me know.
My heart goes out to you and your family on the loss of your beloved Babe.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Terry
