Stephanie, My husband was the one who had the dog off the leash when my dog was hit by the car and he struggled with the guilt of that decision. He blamed himself and thought everyone was disappointed in him but it was a routine that he had with Lincoln every morning. He talked about his feeling for Lincoln and wrote a poem on this website to Lincoln to cope with the loss. If you are going to be attending the group in April I would be glad to come and share pictures and more of our story because it seems so similar. I am thinking about you during this difficult period.
