You raise a question that I think many, if not most, of us who have experienced the passing of our animal companions ask - does this pain get any easier? Does this pain ever lessen or go away? From the many people who I've talked to that have gone through this, the answer always seems to be the same - the pain changes. There's times when it's so excruciating that we don't know how we will go on. Then we may experience fond memories and that pain shifts to a smile...even if only for a moment. Our grief is like a roller coaster and there's ups-and-downs along the way. I wish I had the answer to take the pain away, but I think how many of us get through is by finding our own special ways of not only coping, but finding ways of celebrating the bond we shared with our furbabies. Your Shiloh brought so much into your life. Like you said, Shiloh brought things no one else could, and didn't bring the things you didn't want her to! Catherine, although we don't have answers, we are here. We're here to listen and to talk.
