Terry.. thank you so much for your support. As soon as he took ill on Friday I knew that it wasn't going to be a good outcome. Each time we went in on the weekend to visit with him, I was trying to mentally prepare myself for what would most likely be. The hardest part was when we went in to see him yesterday he got up and walked over to me, wagging his tail. He was weak but I could tell he was so happy to see us. But it was short lived as he got weak again and had a hard time walking. We took him outside and sat with him, enjoying some sunshine, took turns holding him and hugging him. Then when we had said our goodbyes we took him inside and got to hold him while they gave him the injection. He died in my arms... my sweet puppy. He is now at peace and playing somewhere in heaven and that is all that matters now.
We haven't said anything to our son yet as he hasn't asked about Rudy. When he does ask I will try to sit him down and explain. Rocky my other dog is depressed... I can see it in his eyes.. He just goes and lies in his crate and isn't himself. We are keeping a close eye on him and trying to give him lots of attention.
