I really feel for you,Elizabeth. My husband and I lost his best friend two months ago. Our vet had been giving us phone calls for a couple months after a suspicious spot showed up on Cobra's X-ray. We finally gave in to the "pressure" and agreed to the surgery. Cobra came through it well but six days later died of a suspected heart attack which I blame on the surgery but the vet claims would have happened anyway. Why? Any we are out $2000.00 which we can ill afford.
So Elizabeth. my feelings are, you have given your baby a wonderful life so let her be with you as long as she is comfortable, and when it is time to say good-bye do it on your terms. People can request no extradorinary measures be taken, so why do vets make us feel guilty when we try to ask the same for our pets.
Don't risk the financial security of you and your son for what may not have a happy outcome.
