Dear Craig
I am so, so sorry that your dear friend Cleo has had to leave. You and she had 20 wonderful, wonderful years together and now its so difficult trying to figure out how to adjust to a new kind of life. You did the kindest, most loving thing you could do, Craig, and I'm sure your Cleo knew you were only helping her so she didn't have to feel bad anymore.
If you feel like you might like to attend our next pet loss support group meeting, it is being held this Saturday, June 23, and if you need directions, please email me and I will provide them for you. Just being able to talk with others who understand how much is hurts to lose a precious pet, can make a difference in helping your heart to heal.
There is also a pet loss support group in the Hamilton area and, if you would like information regarding that group, please email me and I will give you details.
In the meantime, Craig, there are lots of websites where you can post a tribute - a picture and memories - of your beloved Cleo and many of them are free. Doing something like this can also be a healing process.
You might also want to go to www.petloss.com on Monday evening, I believe at 10:00 p.m., where they have their "Candlight Ceremony" - its a virtual tribute ceremony whose participants have all lost a beloved pet.
Craig, if you want titles of books or DVDs that may help, or you just want to "talk", please feel free to post here or to email me.
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sorrowful time.
With sincere sympathy,
Terry
