Hi Melanie,
I just wanted to let you know how sorry I am for the loss of your beloved Oreo.
I heard a lot of the "get over it" when my cat Poubelle died (October 18, 2006) and I finally snapped! I simply announced that I was not going to "get over it" and I was not going to listen to anyone else suggest that I do. Grief is so personal, and sadly, there are many many people in this world who have never felt about an animal the way that people like you and me do. So, I like to think that it is their loss...how sad a life to never enjoy the unconditional love a furbaby brings. How very sad for them. While you may be grieving, you have a lifetime of memories that some people will never be lucky enough to enjoy.
I know it hurts, I know. But you were so blessed to have had each other.
