Hi ladies! Yes, there are certainly some things only another cat-lover would understand!
We miss our furbabies everyday, and we all have unique ways of coping. Some stages of grief are pretty universal, but we all have those little "things" that we need to do to heal.
I love all things to do with cats, and have a large collection of figurines. (My favourites are the cats by Linda E.) When I got Poubelle's ashes, I set them on a shelf in the living room, and put all the black cat figures around it. I also made a collage frame of pictures of him...the frame actually came with cut outs of black cats on it!! (And if you didn't know this already, Poubelle was all black.)
I always say hello to the urn...and I take great comfort in doing so. And whenever I find a penny on the sidewalk or road, I always smile when I pick it up and say "Hi Poub". I read somewhere that some people say that if you find a penny somewhere, it is really your furbaby at the Bridge sending you a hello. I really liked the idea of that, and since then, I keep finding pennies! Sure makes me feel good to pick one up and think that Poub is saying hello.
