Dear Denise
My heart goes out to you as you face Wednesday. It is a wonderful thing that your vet is doing by coming to your home where your dear, little Simcoe will be more at ease. There are lots of poems and prayers for animals on the internet but I've included one here that you might want to read on Wednesday or something like it -
and call St. Francis
to come escort this beloved companion
across the Rainbow Bridge.
for he has been a faithful servant
and has always done his best to please me.
for they are doing so in love and compassion,
freeing him from pain and suffering.
Help me remember the details of his life
with the love he has shown me.
And grant me the courage to honour him
by sharing those memories with others.
and let him know that I will always love him.
And when it's my time to pass over into your paradise,
please allow him to accompany those
who will bring me home.
for the gift of his companionship
and for the time we've had together.
for granting me the strength
to give him to you now.
I have also sent an email to you with additional prayers that might give you some comfort.
Our hearts and thoughts will be with you and your Simcoe on Wednesday, Denise. If there is anything at all that we can do to help, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Sending a hug,
Terry
