Dear Denise,
I just read your post, so I know that your dear Simcoe is at peace now. My heart goes out to you, as I know you are facing some very difficult days ahead. Your dear sweet Simcoe was blessed in life to have you with him, and also blessed in his passing that you were strong enough to know when it was time to let him go. There is no greater gift for a beloved furbaby then to have those that love them be strong enough to let them go in peace.
If it helps any, please know that the days do get easier, and the memories won't always make you sad. Next month, October 18, it will be one year since my beautiful black cat Poubelle passed unexpectedly in his sleep. The first days and weeks were hard...but then one morning I was able to think about him and smile. Your day will come, and until then, know that there are so many of us here who feel as you do, and will do all we can to help.
