Thanks Laurien for responding. We started Russ on low-dosage prednisone to help with the swelling in his throat(lymph glands) and he responded quite well, however this is merely a palliative measure. I am probably going to make an appointment with a holistic vet to investigate some alternative approaches just to provide immune support & to be sure we are doing everything we possible can to make sure he is comfortable. Perhaps with the right food and nutrients we can buy hin some time? Who knows. When you love your animals you want to do everything for their well-being. Every time I look at my precious dog I just can't take it in that he's going to just get worse and die. This is really going to be a challenge. I love him so much. On the positive side, though, maybe I'll be able to use this to help someone else in the future. It's so helpful to know that there are people who care when something like this happens.
