Hi Mitch...glad to hear back from you. You've been on my mind today, and I was wondering how you were doing.
I know these first few days are so hard...
Yes, in answer to your question, it sure is normal to have trouble settling back into work. As a matter of fact, pretty much everything you will be feeling in the days and weeks to come is "normal"!!
The grieving process is similar, yet very different for all of us. All the different stages of grief we share, but how long each of us is at each stage is where we differ.
We all experience the "what ifs"...really, we do. But I take comfort in the belief that our beloved pets have no such concerns...they know we do all that we do out of love. They go to the Bridge knowing that they are loved, and that they continue to love us. Maybe, at the end of the day, the comfort can come from that.
The website certainly offers some book titles that many have said are very helpful during the grieving process. I can't personally recommend any, as I have not read them, but I do know that they have been of great help to many.
And I check this board daily, so I am always around if you want to chat. Also, if you are in the Mississauga area, there are monthly meetings that could be of some comfort to you. (One of the messages on the board has the info on the next meeting.)
You and your Tasha had a wonderful life together...hang on to that.
Hugs,
Laurien
